Dean Luhrs Glazing was the original name DLG Aluminium and glazing begun trading a mere 13 years ago, the company has undergone huge growth and expansion over this period. The fundamental’s of glass and glazing and good old fashion hard work was established early for business owner Dean Luhrs, as his father Arthur Luhrs owned and operated his own glass business many years ago along olive street around the SS&A club site. Many of the skills and customers services morals have been brought forward into the current company way of trading. But new technology has seen glass cutting move into the 21st century.
DLG are located in the Art Deco F.A.Stow building in Mate Street, (Being it’s own piece of history)
But now within the walls are automated laminated cutting table, CNC machines, Computerised Double head mitre cutting saws and an array of computers sending out cutting sheets for the factory to work from. All this new technology is needed as the world of windows and glass it’s self has seen many innovative changes during the past ten Year. Stacking double glazed sliding doors, bi-fold doors that can span over 7 meters wide and 2.7 meter high, sashless double hungs and Thermal broken aluminium windows. Products may have moved into the future, but the art of skilled tradesmen and customers service have stayed, based on good old fashion morals and The Company are very proud of the items manufactured by their current workforce of 30 people.
